Case Study 1: Unchanged business address in GMB

One of my clients took over a business that was managed by a different owner. They were unaware that the former business owner did not change the address and most probably gone uncontactable. I had to assist the client to go through a long process to inform Google about the change of address and do other necessary things. Therefore if you are taking over a new business I strongly advise asking the former owner to remove or change the address.

Case Study 2: GMB claimed by staff

There are cases where GMB was claimed by a staff member. Over the period, the business has now grown and at one point the staff left for a better opportunity. Now, it will be tough to contact former staff to change or transfer the long built GMB of your place. Google will ask the account owner’s consent for the changes. If the former staff refuses you may have to start all over again therefore please claim your business in GMB and do not let your staff claim it.
